기원과 적용

즐거운 마음은 환자의 특히 암 환자들의 회복을 촉진시킬수 있다는 의학연구들을 자주 볼수 있습니다. 이 말씀은 성경 독자들에게 새로운 것이 아닙니다 왜냐하면 “마음의 즐거움은 양약이라도 심령의 근심은 뼈를 마르게 하느니라.”라고 잠언에 이미 기록되어 있기 때문입니다. 이 구절은 환자를 돌볼때 문자적으로 자주 쓰여집니다. 제가 근무했던 Hospital Chaplain에서 환자들이 그들의 위급한 순간에 이 구절을 읽으므로 종종 많은 위로와 격려를 받습니다.
