광야에 있다는 말은 종종 그 인생에서 큰 어려움들을 겪는다는 말입니다.

기원과 적용

이스라엘 민족이 이집트를 떠난 후에 약속의 땅에 들어가기까지 40년이 걸렸습니다. 40년의 광야의 세월동안 사람들은 오직 하나님으로부터 오는 공급에만 의존할 수 있었습니다. 그들이 배고플 때 하나님은 하늘에서 만나를 내려주셨고, 그들이 목마를 때에 바위에서 물을 흘려 보내주셨습니다. “이 사십년 동안에 네 의복이 헤어지지 아니하였고 네 발이 부르트지 아니하였느니라.” (신명기 8:4) 후에 이스라엘 민족은 하나님의 공급하심에만 의존하는 것을 배웠고 광야에서 구원하시고 약속의 땅으로 이끄신 그 하나님을 경험하고 그의 길로 걸었습니다.
