오늘날에 “words that are out of the mouths of babes”는 아이들이 하는 말이 지혜로워서 놀라게 된다는 뜻입니다.

기원과 적용

이 idiom은 성경에 2번 나옵니다. 마태복음 21:16에서 예수님은 묵상시 인 시편 8편에 이미 나왔던 것을 참고함으로써 이 관용구를 사용하셨습니다. 지식인이나 똑똑한 사람들이 아닌 아이들이 주님께 영광과 찬송을 드렸습니다.
