“the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people…”(1 Samuel 13:14) “上帝已经寻到一个合他心意的人,并打算立此人作为百姓的君主……”(中文和合本)

意思

一个after your heart (符合你心意)的人就是和你有着一样的想法与意愿的人。

来源及应用

扫罗在成为君主时年仅30岁。当时上帝派先知撒母尔把他按立为王。扫罗在位期间没有完全遵照上帝的意旨行事,有时会按照自己的意愿而行。撒母尔严厉地斥责了扫罗,并预言他的王位很快将被取代,因为上帝已经找到了一为合祂心意(after his heart)的人,并且即将任命此人为以色列的新君主。这人就是后来名诵千古的大卫王。
