好撒玛利亚人是指那些向有需要的人提供帮助的人。
撒玛利亚在哪里？它是耶路撒冷北部的巴勒斯坦的一个地区。因为认为撒玛利亚人的犹太教血统不纯正，犹太人看不起撒玛利亚人。在路加福音中，耶稣说了一个关于犹太人的故事。这个犹太人在被强盗抢劫了以后，受到撒玛利亚人的真诚帮助，反而那些本应该关心他的祭司和利未人却不施援手。 在 1960年，一个与撒玛利亚同名的慈善组织——香港撒玛利亚救助会（Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong）在香港成立。该组织向有轻生念头的人提供热线服务。有些国家设有 “好撒玛利亚条例”，容许医生在医院外紧急情况下抢救病人儿无需面对被控以医疗失误的风险。
