Today, words that are out of the mouths of babes are words from children that surprise you with their wisdom.
This idiom appears twice in the Bible. In Matthew 21:16, Jesus used this phrase as a reference to its previous appearance in Psalm chapter 8, a psalm of meditation. It is the children that chanted glory and praise for the Lord, but not the wise and the intelligent.
