bible verse
Genesis 5:1
meaning
It originated from the Hebrew name נוֹחַ (Noach), meaning “rest” or “comfort”. In the Old Testament, Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord. Hence, God told him to build an ark which protected him, his family and pairs of all creatures from the Great Flood. After the flood, God blessed Noah and his sons, and established a covenant with them that never again will all life be cut off by the waters of flood. God also set the rainbow as the sign of the covenant.
