“… ساقاه من حديد. قدماه بعضهما من حديد والبعض من خزف” (دانيال 2: 33) “وبما رأيت القدمين والاصابع بعضهما من خزف والبعض من حديد, فالمملكة تكون منقسمة.”(دانيال 2: 41)

Meaning

أولئك الذين لديهم أقدام من الخزف لهم عيوب تجعلهم يبدوا أكثر إنسانية ومثل الناس العاديين.

Origin and Application

كان دانيال النبي الذي كان موهوباً في تفسير الإشارات والأحلام التي جعلته معروفاً في حكومة بابل. كان هناك وقت يحلم فيه الملك نبوخذنصر بتمثال مع رأس من الذهب والقدمين جزءاً من الطين او الخزف وجزئاً من الحديد. قام دانيال بتفسير أقدام الطين والحديد كرمز لمجيء مملكة من شأنها أن تكون قوية جزئيا مثل الحديد وضعيفة جزئيا كالطين. وكما أثبت التاريخ، فإن القدمين يشيران إلى الإمبراطورية الرومانية، التي انقسمت فيما بعد إلى عشر ولايات. وكان بعضها قويا مثل الحديد، ولكن البعض الآخر كان ضعيفا كما الطين.
