Bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1)

bible verse

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.” (Revelation 20:1) (KJV)

origin and application

The bottomless pit, or abyss in the New International Version, is the place where Satan lives. An angel, probably Jesus Christ, will come to bind Satan to a bottomless pit for a thousand years. During this period, the church should have a considerable time of peace and prosperity.
