起源と適用

初なりは、古い時代、奉納物として神への捧げられた、収穫物の初めにとれた物である。初なりの捧げ物は、神への敬神を表す。神はモーセと同時代の預言者アロンに約束した、「彼らの国のすべてのものの初なりで、彼らが主に携えて来る物は、あなたのものになる。あなたの家にいるきよい者はだれでも、それを食べることができる。」今日、初なりは、物事や事業の早期の達成を意味する。
