起源と適用

使徒パウロはローマ帝国を背景に生まれました。彼はパリサイ人でイエスと弟子たちを迫害してきたのですが、ある日、現在シリアの首都であるダマスカスへの途上で、神がまぶしい光の中に現れたのです。パウロは強い光のために三日間目が見えなくなりましたが、その後アナニアという弟子に会いました。そのアナニアは神から、パウロに手を置くように言われてきたのです。たちまち彼の目からうろこのようなものが落ち、癒されたのでした。
