기원과 적용

기독교적인 관점에서 볼 때 죄는 아주 중요한 개념입니다. 죄란 무엇일까요? 죄는 우리를 하나님에게서 멀어지게 만드는 범행이며 위반입니다. 죄는 범법 행위나 비행뿐만 아니라, 자만, 탐욕, 성욕, 분노, 식탐, 질투, 그리고 나태함과 같은 부끄러운 개인적인 성향까지 의미합니다. “삯”은 죄의 결과인 죽음을 은유적으로 표현한 것입니다. 만약 사람들이 부도덕한 행동과 생각을 계속 한다면, 결국 심판 날, 그들은 죽게 될 것입니다. 로마서에 이 구절을 기록한 저자인 사도바울에 의하면, 예수 그리스도 안에서 믿음으로 살아가는 이들만이 죄에서 자유로워 질 것입니다. 또한 그들은 하나님께서 주실 영생이라는 선물을 받게 될 것입니다.
