好撒瑪利亞人是指那些向有需要的人提供幫助的人。
撒瑪利亞在哪里？它是耶路撒冷北部的巴勒斯坦的一個地區。因為認為撒瑪利亞人的猶太教血統不純正，猶太人看不起撒瑪利亞人。在路加福音中，耶穌說了一個關于猶太人的故事。這個猶太人在被強盜搶劫了以後，受到撒瑪利亞人的真誠幫助，反而那些本應該關心他的祭司和利未人卻不施援手。 在 1960年，一個與撒瑪利亞同名的慈善組織——香港撒瑪利亞救助會（Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong）在香港成立。該組織向有輕生念頭的人提供熱線服務。有些國家設有 “好撒瑪利亞條例”，容許醫生在醫院外緊急情況下搶救病人兒無需面對被控以醫療失誤的風險。
