最後的晚餐是耶穌在臨死前和他的門徒最后的一頓飯。在晚餐時,耶穌祝福了面包和葡萄汁,讓它們分別代表他的身體和血。自從他死后,這種儀式一直保存到今天,對此各個教派也有不同的稱呼。如早期教會稱為“Eucharist”(圣餐),新教教會稱為“Holy Communion”(聖餐),而羅馬天主教會則稱為“Mass”(彌撒)。儀式的目的是為了紀念耶穌的死,同時也為了加強基督教徒間的凝聚力。 《最后的晚餐》是意大利畫家里昂那多.達文西Leonardo Da Vinci的杰作。這幅壁畫創作于1495-1498,現存放於圣瑪麗教堂,教堂坐落在今天位于米蘭的Santa Maria delle Grazie 。今天世界各地的人都不辭千里涌向這個世界文化遺產遺址瞻仰這幅名作。
