意思

源自希臘語Πετρος (Petros),意為“石頭”(有稱“小石"),據新約記載,彼得原名西門,是一名漁夫。被耶穌選中為其中一位十二門徒後,他改名為彼得。耶穌被猶太人捉拿後,因為害怕被捉,彼得曾經三次不肯承認與耶穌的關係。為此,彼得之後非常後悔,其後獻身傳揚福音。彼得在尼祿王統治下,他對行刑者要求把他倒過來掛在十字架上,因為他自覺與耶穌不配。
