起源と適用

イエスが、故郷のナザレにお帰りになると、人々はイエスの知恵と奇跡を行う力に驚嘆した。ある人は、ナザレでの子供時代、大工の息子であったイエスの能力を疑い始めた。人々が不信仰だったので、そこではあまり奇跡をなさらなかった。

教会によっては今日にも、この言葉が実践されている。卒業したばかりの聖職者は、自分とともに育った人々のいる所属(出身)教会に、すぐには帰らないことを選ぶ。
