1 Chronicles 3:1
meaning
The name does not appear in the Bible. It is the French feminine form of “Daniel” which came from the Hebrew name דָנִיֵּאל (Daniyyel) meaning “God is my judge”. In the Old Testament, Daniel’s story was told in the Book of Daniel. He was a Hebrew prophet who could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. He was taken captive in Babylon but later was placed in a high position in the Babylonian government after interpreting the dreams of the king Nebuchadnezzar. However, after Darius the Mede took power, Daniel was persecuted for his faith in God and thrown into the lions’ den, but he was not wounded at all because he had trusted in God.
