彌迦書1
此名起源於希伯來文מִיכָאֵל (Mikha’el)，是Micha的延伸，意思是“誰像上帝？”這反問句強調的是沒有誰像上帝，因為上帝是獨有的。在聖經中有幾個人物都起用這名。在舊約民數記中，米迦勒是派去迦南的十二個間諜之一。在新約聖經中，米迦勒是猶太書中的天使長之一。在啟示錄裡，米迦勒和他的使者們是與龍角斗。他被視為天使長。
